Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon (Verily we belong to God and verily to Him do we return)

It is with great sadness that we share the passing ahead of Shaykh Mahmud Effendi al-Naqshbandi (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) who was a great scholar from Turkey.

The shaykh spent 50 years of his life serving humanity and revived the Sunnah (Holy Traditions of the Beloved Prophet ‎ﷺ) in Turkey.  He taught thousands of ulama (scholars) and huffaz (memorizers of the Holy Qur’an). He was also a spiritual guide (shaykh) and known for his piety.

One of Hazrat Khawaja Mawlana Mohammad Khushhal’s (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) Khalifas visited the shaykh in Turkey. The mureeds (disciples) of Shaykh Mahmud Effendi (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) and Hazrat Khawaja Mawlana Mohammad Khushhal (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) have since shared great love and respect for each other’s shaykhs, and appreciated the spiritual work of Silsila Aliya Khushhaliya particularly in India and the spiritual work of Silsila Naqshbandia in Turkey.

May Allah (Subahanahu wa Ta'ala) raise Shaykh Effendi’s status, give him a high place in Jannah, fill his grave with nur, and keep him among the siddiqin, shuhada', and salihin. Ameen.
