INDIAN VISUALLY IMPAIRED JUDO TEAM LEAVES FOR BAKU FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Indian Visually Impaired Judo Team today left for Baku, Azerbaijan to participate in the 2022 IBSA Judo World Championships. The Send-off ceremony was held at Indian Judo Academy, Halwasiya Court, Hazratgunj, where Shri Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Chairman, Indian Blind and Para Judo Association (IBPJA), gave his best wishes to the team and motivated them to get medals at the championships and make their state and country proud. 

Mrs. Deepa Malik, President, Paralympic Committee of India, on a visit to Lucknow, took out time from her precious schedule, and graced the Send Off Ceremony of the Indian Visually Impaired Judo Team. She distributed the kit to the team and wished them luck.

A Pre Departure Camp was held at Indian Judo Academy, Halwasiya Court, Hazratgunj to train the team, which was taken by Shri Soma Nagao, Japanese Coach. 

The IBSA Judo World Championships is being organised by the National Paralympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan from 04th to 11th November 2022.

17 Players and 07 Officials from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra are taking part in the championships. The team consists of 10 men, 07 women, 02 coaches, 04 escorts and 01 team leader. 

IBPJA is very hopeful of a good performance by the team in the World Championships.
