Sudhir Chaudhary, who has formally quit Zee Media Corporation as CEO of Cluster 1, is planning to start his own venture. In his second stint at Zee News, Chaudhary spent almost 10 years at the network.

With Chaudhary moving on, the Editors of Zee News, Zee Business, and Zee 24 Taas will report to the President - Group Strategy & Innovation, and WION will report directly to the Publisher.

"This is to formally inform that Sudhir Chaudhury, CEO Cluster 1 has resigned from his services at Zee Media Corporation Limited with immediate effect. Since Sudhir has inclination to start his own venture, it is with a heavy heart that Zee Media has accepted it," Zee Media said in a statement.

In an internal mail, Essel Group Chairman and Zee Media Mentor Subhash Chandra said he held a couple of meetings with Chaudhary in the last two days to try to convince him to stay back. "Since he is planning to start his own venture by utilising his fan following, I did not want to come in his way of progression," the email reads.

Chandra also plans to host a farewell dinner for Chaudhary at Constitution Club on 8th July.

In his resignation letter to Chandra, Chaudhary stated that he has been deliberating on starting his own venture for quite some time. "To start my own enterprise. I assure you that my proposed new venture (If successful) will make you happy and proud of me. My success will be testimony of my learning of more than 15 years Two stints) at Zee," the email addressed to Chandra reads.
