DCP Dwarka awarded certificates to students

DCP Dwarka Shri Harsha Vardhan, IPS awarded certificates to 80 students who have recently completed 3 Months Basic computer Course from Sangam Community Education Centre located in Bindapur Police station. This Centre was inaugurated by CP Delhi on 5 April 2022.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vardhan congratulated the students on successful completion of the course and observed that it would help them in exploring wider and better livelihood choices in both the government and the private sectors; and also serve as a useful foundation for taking more advanced courses in future. In his speech he also added that now we are living in a Digital World and Computer Literacy is much needed in every industry. It is requirement to be digitally literate in order to be able to function in a capacity that enables one to be more successful whether it is at our Jobs or even looking for a Job.

Shri Vardhan appreciated this initiative of Sangam Trust and mentioned that such Centres perform a useful role in steering the disadvantaged youth away from crime and deviance ; and also serve as a useful bridge between the local communities and the law-enforcement agencies. Delhi Police has been supporting similar initiatives in many other districts also in partnership with NGOs. 

Speaking on this occasion, Shri Kuldeep Kumar, Chairman, Sangam Trust mentioned that since its inception the Centre had received tremendous response from the local youths from disadvantaged sections in the society, and presently the Computer Centre was running to its full capacity of 80 students in 4 batches and there is a long waiting list of students who have registered for its future courses. These students also make good use of its library which is well-stocked with books for competitive exams.

Recently, Sangam Trust had been approached by the South-West centre of Delhi Legal Services Authority and one batch of 20 students has been started exclusively for the candidates recommended by DLSA.

Shri Kumar mentioned some more initiatives taken by Sangam Trust in recent months. These included: A health Check-up camp for students at Bindapur police station on 28 May 22 with the help of Star Imaging & Path Labs and another such camp for the old and destitute persons of DAVO Old Age Home on 29 May 22 with the help of Ch. Braham Prakash Government Aurveda Hospital.   

While concluding, Shri Kumar expressed his gratitude to the dedicated team of its Education partner IACT Pvt. Ltd and the Delhi police for their whole-hearted support in this endeavor.

The Sangam Trust has been founded by Shri Kuldeep Kumar, IPS (retd.) in loving memory of his wife Mrs. Sangita Mehta who succumbed to Covid in May 2021.
