Disha foundation celebrated its silver jubilee by planting trees

Greening is serving, Disha Foundation grandly celebrated its silver jubilee at Nathupur Senior Secondary School, Gurugram, Haryana. On this occasion, all the members, along with their skill partner Rootskills, shared the awareness and information on “No Single Use of Plastic", cleanliness, and an organic way of living. On this special occasion all the three founders of Disha, Ms. Anita Saraogi, Ms. Shyama Aggarwal, Ms. Swati Jajodia, and all the members were present. School principal Ms. Suman Malik shared her thoughts on the benefits of planting utility trees. Dr. Manisha Kaushik was present as a special guest to share knowledge on waste segregation and to inspire students to follow 3R.
Disha, since 1997, majorly works for underprivileged girl children and works compassionately to build their better futures. They run ‘Assistant Center’, in N C Jindal Public School, Punjabi Bagh, providing extended educational training under the guidance of trained teachers, to the children studying in Nigam Prathamik Vidyalay. Presently there are 350 students in the center and the number grows every year.
For many years the students studying there have shown 100% results, and around 50% have got government scholarships( Medhavi).
Apart from education, Disha is also contributing in their other fields also. Be it training about personal hygiene and cleanliness or getting their yearly medical checkup done, Disha Foundation never fails to contribute it’s part. They also train the children in music and dance and provide them exposure by organising trips, picnics, annual days, and sports days.
On this occasion, Ms. Manisha Kaushik taught the children about waste management and explained the ways to segregate solid and liquid waste.
Disha foundation also provided the school with a water tank to store water for maintaining newly planted Trees. The children of the school who volunteered at the tree plantation were given fruits and certificates, to encourage them for an organic way of living.
Disha and their skill partner Rootskills are looking forward to such welfare projects in many more institutions and schools in Gurugram, to share the knowledge on waste segregation and to inspire students.
