Muslim Delegation Meets Cabinet Minister Rajnath Singh*

15 member muslim delegation met the Defense Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh yesterday at his residence in New Delhi and held long discussions on the range of issues concerning the community and the country. The delegation shared its concerns on the deteriorating communal environment, instances of provocative acts and growing perception in the muslims about biased state actions.
The Minister shared the concerns and assured the same to be taken up at the appropriate levels. He emphasised on the common values and shared cultural heritage, message of Sufism and common challenges and shared future for all communities and for all citizens. The Minister agreed to the observation that trust deficit has grown and emphasised on the need for greater engagement to bridge it. It may be noted that Rajnath Singh is next to PM in protocol and has been BJP national president twice. Led by IMPAR president Dr MJ Khan the delegation was comprised of Qamar Agha, Justice IM Quddusi, PA Inamdar, Siraj Qureshi, Asghar Imam, Wamiq Warsi, Javed Yunus, Khwaja Shahid, MQH Beg, Syed Salman Chisty among others.

15 सदस्यीय मुस्लिम प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने कल नई दिल्ली में रक्षा मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह से उनके आवास पर मुलाकात की और समुदाय और देश से संबंधित मुद्दों पर लंबी चर्चा की। प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने बिगड़ते सांप्रदायिक माहौल, भड़काऊ कृत्यों की घटनाओं और मुसलमानों में राज्य सरकारों की पक्षपातपूर्ण कार्यों के बारे में बढ़ती धारणा पर अपनी चिंताओं को साझा किया। मंत्री ने उचित स्तर पर इसे उठाए जाने का आश्वासन दिया। उन्होंने सामान्य मूल्यों और साझा सांस्कृतिक विरासत, सूफीवाद के संदेश और आम चुनौतियों और सभी समुदायों और सभी नागरिकों के लिए साझा भविष्य पर जोर दिया। मंत्री ने इस बात पर सहमति जताई कि समुदायों के बीच भरोसे की कमी बढ़ी है और इसे पाटने के लिए अधिक से अधिक बातचीत की आवश्यकता है। गौरतलब है कि राजनाथ सिंह प्रोटोकॉल में पीएम के बाद आते हैं और दो बार बीजेपी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष रह चुके हैंI IMPAR के अध्यक्ष डॉ एमजे खान के नेतृत्व में इस प्रतिनिधिमंडल में क़मर आगा, न्यायमूर्ति आईएम कुद्दुसी, पीए इनामदार, सिराज कुरैशी, असगर इमाम, वामीक वारसी, जावेद यूनुस, ख्वाजा शाहिद, एमक्यूएच बेग, सैयद सलमान चिस्ती समेत अन्य शख्सियतें शामिल थी।
