Home Minister Rajnath Singh blesses CMS’ 64 member delegation who will perform yoga at UNO Headquarters, New York, CMS delegation leaves for USA

New Delhi, June 10: The Home Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh today met with the 64 member delegation of City Montessori School (CMS), Lucknow at his residence 17, Akbar Road, New Delhi and wished them good luck for raising country’s flag in foreign land. This team of 64 students and teachers of CMS will be performaing yoga at the UNO Headquarters, New York on 21 June, the fourth International Day of Yoga disseminating the heritage and culture of India across the world. CMS students and teachers seemed very happy with the blessings and best wishes of the Home Minister, Mr Rajnath Singh before their departure to New York. Blessing the students, Home Minister, Mr Rajnath Singh said that CMS students’ tour will not only let the world understand the importance of yoga but the students will also learn from it. I extend my warm wishes to all the students and teachers going to New York to spread the culture of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam and learn good things there. I hope good things that you learn there will be beneficial for you. On this occasion, the students also asked some questions to the Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh and Shri Singh answered to them with ease and comfort. Shri Singh also had some refreshments with the students. CMS students and teachers were beaming after being blessed by the home Minister of India.
It is worth mentioning here that a 64 member delegation of City Montessori School (CMS), Lucknow left for USA today on their educational excursion and perform yoga at UNO Headquarters in presence of the Secretary General of the UNO, His Excellency Mr Antonio Guterras. The delegation of CMS also met with the journalists at a press conference held today afternoon at UP Bhawan, 6 Sardar Patel Marg, New Delhi and apprised the journalists about their visit to USA and yoga performance at the UNO Headquarters.
Talking to the press personnel, the CMS students said that Yoga is the need of the hour in these times of stress and turmoil and it is an integral part of our rich cultural heritage. By presenting yogic exercises at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on International Day of Yoga, 21st June, we will give the message of healthy mind in a healthy body through balance of body, mind and soul in yoga and we will also promote and spread the glory of ancient Indian traditions of health and fitness in all corners of the world. They opined that it was a blessing for them to have got the golden opportunity of presenting yoga at the UNO headquarters and thus spreading our country’s ancient culture all over the world.
Speaking to the press reporters at the press conference, the CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandh expressed gratitude to Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh for sparing his valuable time for the children. Dr Gandhi further stated that with the inspiration of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi the common man is realizing the great importance of Yoga and participating in yoga programmes and indeed, in the recent past, a lot of awareness has been created in this direction. This has benefitted the entire humanity. Dr Gandhi happily said it is a moment of great pride for all Lucknowites. We are looking forward for the successful presentation of Yoga by our students at the UN Headquarters.
Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Shri Hari Om Sharma said that CMS students have been spreading this cultural heritage of India since the proclamation of International Yoga Day, by doing yoga every year at the United Nations Headquarters. This effort of CMS students has received profound acclamation from the people of India. Mr Sharma said that the students are full of enthusiasm for representing India through yoga at UN Headquarters. The delegation will return back to India on 23 June. During their educational tour, the students will also visit J.F. Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA and do some sightseeing in places of interest.
