Hollistic development of Pilgrimage and Heritage destination. Priority of Union government -Rashmi Verma, Secretary Tourism

Tourism Secretary Rashmi Verma addressing a press conference, in Lucknow said that the Tourism Ministry  has launched PRASHAD –“”The National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive “” with the Hollistic development of identified pilgrimage and heritage destinations. The scheme aims at the infrastructure development, all over. A total of 25 sites have been identified, all over India.She said that a total 21 projects have been approved with estimated expenditure of Rs.587.29 crores Awanashe Kr.Awasthi Principal Secretary, Tourusm Ministry, Meenakshi Verma, Additional DG Tourism , also were at the Press Conference and briefed about the promotional activities of the UP Tourism to the media.
Ministry of Tourism in close collaboration with Ministry of Culture and archaeological survey of India (ASI )envisages developing heritage sites and making them tourist friendly to enhance their tourism potential and cultural importance, in a planned manner. 

The Secretary said that Tourism ministry has introduced “”Adopt a Heritage “”. This entails plans to entrust heritage sites to the private  sector companies and individuals for the development of Tourist amenities. They would become “” Monument Mitras””.Basic amenities would be provided by them and they would look after the operation and maintenance of the amenities.

She reviews the progress made by Northern states in a 2 day Review conference, currently going on in Lucknow. She said emphasis on Infrastructure, Marketing and Publicity,with emphasis on Incredible India 2 .The aim would be to relate awareness and be market specific, These thematic campaign will be for various circuit. They will target market like Europe, USA, Japan, China, and Russia. 

Indian Diaspora will be developed in various different campaign, more films specially for the NRI. “Dekho Apna Desh ” will be aggressively launched to promote domestic tourism.She informed the press gathering that in 2017, foreign tourism increased by 15.6 %. Web design will be developed on Incredible India theme on a war footing. E-Visa, Integrated information, Adopt Heritage Monuments, schemes have been introduced. Iconic sites with a Hollistic approach will be developed in Northern circuit. 

For Swedish Darohar an amount of 480 crores have been allocated and for PRASHAD Yojna, 150 crores have been allocated for 5 sites. Kumbh Melaa which will be held in 2019, Detailed discussion were held with the CM and Tourism minister. Dudhwa will be further developed and also for  Helicopter service ,11 corporates have shown interest. Diwali in Ayodhya and Holi in Bharsana will be model celebration ,to promote tourism. Adventure tourism will also be developed along with more security for the foreigners.
