Swatch Bharat mission to be strictly implemented in UP. State to be ODF free.

Lucknow, 5th October : Bhupender Singh Chaudary in his presentation of his ministry achievements in first 6 months of the Yogi government said in media briefing that under the ODF free scheme, the initial target of the Union government to achieve it, was 2019, however UP got wants to finish it off one year earlier. Till now in 6 district and 12722 gram panchayats have achieved ODF targets. He further said that UP government is first amongst the states in construction of toilets. Till now 1.38 crores families have been provided with toilet facilities. In the last financial year, 6.34 lakhs toilets had been constructed, while in this financial year,13.49 lakhs have already been constructed.
Minister Bhupender Chaudary said out of total central budget of 12,000 crores, state has already spent 5,000 crores under the 14th finance commission allocation of funds, the state has not received its allocated amount, in September or in coming March.
ODF has been brought under Geo tagging and it will be given a unique identification code.
Other major scheme of the ministry, which he announced were swatch bharat mission. Multi purpose panchayats bhawans construction, the utilisation of the 14th Finance Commission amount for construction of basic amenities like Street lights, sewage, etc development of Rashtriya gram swaraj abhiyan and burial places to be developed.
He also disclosed that E-tendering has been started on the state and Mukhya Mantri Panchayats protsahan young has also been started, under which final awards will be given to gram panchayats.
He also announced Deen Dayal Upadyah Panchayats Shashastikaran award, which would include monetary awards for encouragements. Another award announced was Nanaji Deshmukh Gaurav Gram Sabha Award.
